Tag It!

I started wrapping Christmas presents for my friends and family this past weekend and I realized that I am in major need of some holiday gift tags! I browsed etsy and found these fabulous designs...

Christmas Coca-Colas

A friend introduced me to these ornament shaped coca-cola bottles the other day, and I just thought they were the cutest little drinks! These would be the perfect alternative to alcoholic beverages at your Christmas party this year.

Cookie Swap

I just received an invitation in the mail for a Cookie Swap Party. If you have never been to one, you are missing out on some holiday fun! Here is how it works (if you haven't already guessed from the name): guests are asked to bake 3 dozen cookies, email the recipe to the host in advance, and bring the cookies to the party to swap with other guests. Each guest leaves with a sampling of cookies and all the recipes! So, I have a little over a week to decide on a recipe, (possibly test it out if I've never made it), email it to the host, and then bake 3 dozen! Here are a few I found on Martha's website that look delicious...but also complicated. Help! The chewy chocolate gingerbread cookies are calling my name, but all those ingredients...and the mixer needed (which I don't have)...I'm thinking I may need to come up with some easier options. What do you think? Anyone have a great cookie recipe out there?

Sadie and Scott, III

Can this tent be any more FABULOUS? I LOVE the chandeliers....the chairs...the taupe linens...ah heaven! If this isn't so chic I don't know what is??

.

How gorgeous are the intricate details on this wedding cake by Pastry Arts?

..

Brides in the South typically have a groom's cake in addition to the bride's cake, which I'm a fan of because of my love for all things chocolate! Even though there is a lady "crashing" this photo, I just had to include it...the hanging calla lilies are a sight to see!
.

How fabulous is this pool covered dance floor? And the high boy tables lit up?

.
Love the vintage "get-a-way" car...and this photo with the light glowing from the chandeliers and sparklers. I can't think of a more magical wedding! Happy one year and two month anniversary Sadie and Scott!

Sadie and Scott, II

The ceremony and reception were held at the bride's father's home in Point Clear, Alabama...one of my favorite spots down South! It's a quaint town on Mobile Bay with the most beautiful homes on the water. I love that Sadie chose the choir at Mt. Zion Ame Church in Daphne to provide the music for the wedding ceremony. What a fun twist...its all the about special touches that set your day apart...

I love the white fabric on the back row of chairs at the ceremony, and the altar beneath the large oak tree. The landsacpe is so beautiful in its natural state... the simple and elegant flowers are the perfect compliment. Stephanie Easterling from Wildflowers in Fairhope did a wonderful job with the floral arrangements.

Still more to come...stay tuned!

Real Southern Wedding: Sadie and Scott, part 1

I'm so excited to finally be posting this outrageously gorgeous wedding held in Point Clear, Alabama last October. Since so.chic didn't exist then, I thought I would post Sadie and Scott's wedding on their one year anniversary. Well yes, I do realize its December now...somehow time got away from me...work, family, friends all come before my blog. BUT, today is Sadie and Scott's one year and two month anniversary, which is good enough for me! There were so many incredible details in this wedding that simply have me giddy!

Sadie was glowing in her gorgeous Vera Wang gown and her bridesmaids looked fabulous in Amsale. I love the candid moments her photographer Jason Norman captured throughout the day.

More to come in a bit on Sadie and Scott's big day!
