Flower Perfection

I am in awe of this amazing floral design. I LOVE how vintage bottles are used to hang flowers from the tent structure. Talk about creative and thinking outside of the box! I also love how the table and barrel give a rustic vibe to the decor.
.
.
I've been meaning to start brainstorming on some ideas for the bar at my reception. I mean everyone visits the bar...multiple times... right? So, its got to be impressive! Perhaps I should use this idea as some inspiration ...

Flirty Skirts...

How fabulous are these bridesmaids outfits?? These flirty Pucci skirts were sported at a destination wedding in the Bahamas and I think they are just perfect for a beach wedding! I love how brides are becoming more innovative in dressing their bridesmaids. I feel like the days of hideous dresses are slowly disappearing...do you agree or are your friends still making you wear bridesmaids dresses that are unflattering??

More from My Wish List...

I have been wanting a new light fixture for my dining room for some time now, but just haven't found one that I love...and can afford. Unfortunately, my fiance doesn't have a great fixture either so I'm still looking...and looking...and looking. I am definitely drawn to the lantern look but am open to anything besides my ugly brass chandelier! I saw the image below on one of my favorite blogs, Delight by Design, and stuck it in my inspiration file. I'm planning on going to Scott's Antique Market in Atlanta in May so I'm crossing my fingers I can find something there that fits into my budget!

.

Not only am I in need of a new light fixture, but I would also love a new rug for my dining room. I'm pretty traditional when it comes to decorating, but a few of my friends have recently updated their houses with a cowhide rug and they look fabulous! I would definitely be stepping outside of my comfort zone with this purchase, but I think it would be fun. I saw this one on West Elm for $369...but my good friend told me Southeastern Salvage sells them for $99. I guess I will be visiting that store more often hoping to score a good deal on a cowhide rug!

Finally a Pair...

I've always wanted a pair of Tory Burch shoes...and finally, I (really my mom) purchased my first pair this weekend! Saks is having their friends and family sale on Thursday and we just happened to luck out and get the sale price a few days early. The only problem is that my sandals are sitting at Saks waiting to be picked up and not in my closet (boo on store rules). I can't wait to get them back on my feet!!!

Loving this entry way update by Marianne.

This recipe looks delicious...might have to give it a try this weekend.

I can't think of a more perfect birthday party for a 3 year old boy!

This makes my heart melt...

Vintage Love

Lately I have been in love with all things vintage...like the tablescape below. My parents have always collected antiques and used to drag me around to antique stores when I was little. I hated it then, but I LOVE it now!
.
.
I'm planning to incorporate antique pieces that my parents have collected over the years into my wedding reception decor. I think it will add a personal touch and be a unique twist to the typical vases, serving pieces and seating used at weddings. I was motivated to incorporate a vintage vibe when I stumbled across this fabulous wedding on Style Me Pretty...go check it out!

DIY Cupcakes and a Baby Shower

I've been meaning to post these photos from my good friend Brooke's baby shower for over a week now! A handful of us hosted a cupcakes and champagne party in honor of Brooke, which to me was a lot more fun than the traditional afternoon shower. I mean who doesn't like champagne?? Instead of just baking a bunch of pre-made cupcakes, we let guests pick and choose their cake and icing flavor, plus special toppings. I think my favorite was the strawberry cupcake with vanilla butter cream frosting....it was delicious! You can check out more photos from the shower on Brooke's blog, and you can even see a sneak peak of her nursery here!
