Pretty Fall Invitations

I've got invitations on my mind this week because I've been stuffing, stamping...and finally today mailing the last batch of my wedding invitations! What a relief to have them out of my hands now. I feel like everyone has told me that the invitations are one of the worst parts of the wedding planning process, and I definitely have to agree.

I'm very traditional when it comes to a wedding invitation, so I love to pick colorful invitations for showers and parties. I'm a huge fan of letterpress and fall colors so naturally this shower invitation jumped out at me while I was browsing around on etsy. To see more from ilee's shop click here!

Brunch Anyone?

Mini passed pancakes....what can be cuter than this??? I think I may need to find an excuse to host a brunch. Put a mimosa in my hand and I am a very happy camper! What is your favorite thing to serve for brunch?

For all you cyclists...

If you have a hobby, why not incorporate it into your wedding? I love this bicycle turned seating card holder and the adorable stickers on the favor boxes that match! It never hurts to think outside of the box and come up with a theme that means something to you...and looks chic all at the same time!

Too too cute!!

.
While I realize this video has nothing to do with parties, I still just had to share it with you. Over the last four years, I have become a dog lover...thanks to my fiance's dog Dixie. (Who I know you have heard me mention before). I hope you enjoy!!

Fall Inspiration

I LOVE fall and am so ready for it to get here!! Its still hitting 90+ degrees here in the South and its about to kill me! I want that crisp football weather here NOW. Besides the weather, one of my favorite things about fall are the leaves. So naturally, I was drawn to these creative seating cards incorporating leaves...

French Country

I fell madly in love with this French country table setting the minute I laid my eyes upon it on the Bride's Cafe blog. More and more I am drawn to decor that incorporates food. And well, you know rustic details have always had my heart. I love how simplistic yet gorgeous this table is...

PolaDROID

Remember this post of mine from a few days ago? Well, I read your comments and downloaded poladroid and I LOVE it!! I think it is sooooo cool watching my original photo "develop" into a polaroid. The only kink I need to work out is my cropping...a lot of my photos have chopped the tops of heads off...yikes. Here is one though that turned out just right...

Now that I've figured out (for the most part) the polaroids, I need to work on how I will display them. I really like the idea of mini clothes pins. So, of course I googled it, and luckily I found this option on Amazon.

I've ordered them and am keeping my fingers crossed they will work!!

One...to remember

Drum roll please....who is the cutest little birthday girl around?? It's gotta be my precious little friend Attie. Not only is she the cutest thing around, but how about her adorable hat and her gorgeous cake?! Attie's mom Wesley is my good friend from college and she knows how to throw a good party, and that is exactly what she did for Attie's first birthday.

Since Wesley's and her husband's family came in town for Attie's birthday weekend, she decided to put together welcome bags/party favors that were delivered to the hotel and placed in everyone's room prior to their arrival.

You know I love a signature drink....and this one definitely takes the cake! Wesley's husband brewed his own beer and Wesley had labels made for this special beer - Attie's Ale. The best part...Wesley said it was actually a delicious beer!

I absolutely LOVE the gorgeous table Wesley set for the occasion. Her mom is a florist...one of my favorites, so she helped make an arrangement for the centerpiece. I love the silver goblets...they add the perfect southern touch :)

And finally, the gifts for sweet little Attie were collected in a wooden wagon. It looks like her cousin is eyeing up her loot!

Wes, thanks for sharing these photos of Attie's first birthday!!

House Project #1

Ok, so I know I said that I was going to post photos today from the first birthday party my best friend put together for her little girl. But, my post isn't quite ready yet, so instead you will have to bear with me as I talk about a house project I am currently working on. For some reason I think its a good idea to try to redecorate my fiance's house at the same time as planning a wedding. Hmm, probably not the smartest way to keep my life stress free? I've been wanting to give a new look to my dining room chairs and finally decided to take the plunge on this project.
.
.
Here is a before picture of one of my chairs. I know, the fabric is not bad...but, of course I think they need a change (my fiance doesn't get it...typical male right?). So, I went to a local fabric store and picked out this fun geometric pattern...in one of my favorite color combos: chocolate brown and cream.
.

.
Next comes the fun part....taking the old fabric off the chairs. Thankfully my sweet fiance used his muscles, a screwdriver and needlenose pliers to help me remove the fabric.
.

..
Due to a lack of tools(and poor planning on my part), the project had to end here last night. I'm hoping to finish it tonight! Don't worry...you will definitely see the finished product :)

Blog slacker...

...yep, I'm talking about myself! I have been a total slacker this week with my blog...which if you are a regular reader, I'm sure you've noticed. With the holiday and my job being so busy these days, and well, with the wedding so soon I have been finding it harder and harder to settle down in front of my computer to blog. I came across this image yesterday when I was doing some research on DIY photo booths and naturally I fell in love for many reasons...
.
.
1. The barrels...lately I've had a thing for barrels (It must be the rustic lover in me)
2. The old trunk...you know I love a touch of vintage
3. The bright, playful backdrop....fabulous!
4. And who doesn't like an antique frame...say CHEESE.

P.S. I want to give a little birthday shout out to my best friend's sweet little girl Attie! Stay tuned next week for fabulous pictures from the most adorable first birthday!!

Polaroids....

I love love love polaroids...especially when they are incorporated into party decor. I would love to know how to get a regular picture printed as a polaroid. Anyone out there know if that is even possible?? I'm hoping to incorporate some polaroids into the vintage decor at my wedding.

Simple...yet perfect

To me a simple table setting is the most elegant. I love how this single gorgeous flower adds a pop of color to the table setting, but doesn't overpower the whole table. It's simple...it's perfect. Sometimes understated makes a bigger impact than a table dressed to the nines. What do you think??

For the kids...continued!

I've been thinking more about the kid's table I want to have at my wedding for all the little ones coming, and I just happened to stumble across this fabulous wedding on Salt Harbor Designs! I am crazy about this Kid's Korner...

I definitely want to incorporate drawing paper as a tablecloth and plenty of crayons, and I had also been thinking about making a list of things/people that I would love for the kids to take a picture of on a disposable camera. This I SPY list is the perfect way to execute my idea!
