As most of you already know, I have a thing for cupcakes....as evidenced here and here. So, of course when I saw these cupcake flags on Peach and Pearl I got very excited thinking about having another cupcake party! This would be a fun and relatively easy DIY project that adds lots of personality to your cupcakes...
I'm typically drawn to more neutral colors, but I absolutely LOVE this colorful tablescape. How much fun would it be to kick off your shoes and enjoy gathering with friends in this festive yet comfortable atmosphere? This has me day dreaming about throwing a summer picnic for my friends...
I am in awe of this amazing floral design. I LOVE how vintage bottles are used to hang flowers from the tent structure. Talk about creative and thinking outside of the box! I also love how the table and barrel give a rustic vibe to the decor.
I've been meaning to start brainstorming on some ideas for the bar at my reception. I mean everyone visits the bar...multiple times... right? So, its got to be impressive! Perhaps I should use this idea as some inspiration ...
How fabulous are these bridesmaids outfits?? These flirty Pucci skirts were sported at a destination wedding in the Bahamas and I think they are just perfect for a beach wedding! I love how brides are becoming more innovative in dressing their bridesmaids. I feel like the days of hideous dresses are slowly disappearing...do you agree or are your friends still making you wear bridesmaids dresses that are unflattering??
I have been wanting a new light fixture for my dining room for some time now, but just haven't found one that I love...and can afford. Unfortunately, my fiance doesn't have a great fixture either so I'm still looking...and looking...and looking. I am definitely drawn to the lantern look but am open to anything besides my ugly brass chandelier! I saw the image below on one of my favorite blogs, Delight by Design, and stuck it in my inspiration file. I'm planning on going to Scott's Antique Market in Atlanta in May so I'm crossing my fingers I can find something there that fits into my budget!
Not only am I in need of a new light fixture, but I would also love a new rug for my dining room. I'm pretty traditional when it comes to decorating, but a few of my friends have recently updated their houses with a cowhide rug and they look fabulous! I would definitely be stepping outside of my comfort zone with this purchase, but I think it would be fun. I saw this one on West Elm for $369...but my good friend told me Southeastern Salvage sells them for $99. I guess I will be visiting that store more often hoping to score a good deal on a cowhide rug! Image via Delight by Design and West Elm
I've always wanted a pair of Tory Burch shoes...and finally, I (really my mom) purchased my first pair this weekend! Saks is having their friends and family sale on Thursday and we just happened to luck out and get the sale price a few days early. The only problem is that my sandals are sitting at Saks waiting to be picked up and not in my closet (boo on store rules). I can't wait to get them back on my feet!!!
Lately I have been in love with all things vintage...like the tablescape below. My parents have always collected antiques and used to drag me around to antique stores when I was little. I hated it then, but I LOVE it now!
I'm planning to incorporate antique pieces that my parents have collected over the years into my wedding reception decor. I think it will add a personal touch and be a unique twist to the typical vases, serving pieces and seating used at weddings. I was motivated to incorporate a vintage vibe when I stumbled across this fabulous wedding on Style Me Pretty...go check it out!
I've been meaning to post these photos from my good friend Brooke's baby shower for over a week now! A handful of us hosted a cupcakes and champagne party in honor of Brooke, which to me was a lot more fun than the traditional afternoon shower. I mean who doesn't like champagne?? Instead of just baking a bunch of pre-made cupcakes, we let guests pick and choose their cake and icing flavor, plus special toppings. I think my favorite was the strawberry cupcake with vanilla butter cream frosting....it was delicious! You can check out more photos from the shower on Brooke's blog, and you can even see a sneak peak of her nursery here!
I have been feeling a little unorganized lately when it comes to blogging. Life has been so busy with work, selling my house, and of course wedding planning that I feel like my blog has taken a back seat. So, I apologize for this post being so tardy today! Ever since I decided to put my house on the market, I've begun to make a "wish list" for new pieces of furniture for my "new" house...(I'll be moving in to my fiance's house after the wedding).
I'm dying for a bar cart...not just because I love the way it looks, but it is great for storage too!!
I love it when a lounge area is incorporated into an event...especially when it looks like an extension of a living room and NOT a club. A lounge area is a great way to provide extra seating that gives your event a special, and comfortable, touch. I love how the lounge area below incorporates colors from the wedding into the pillows and the coffee table runner! And, of course you know I love the hanging lanterns!!
I LOVE candles, so of course when I saw this photo on Jessica Claire's website, I stuck it in my wedding inspiration file. I want TONS of candles to decorate the church, especially the altar...I think they are so romantic and for an evening wedding they will cast the perfect glow! I get all excited thinking about my wedding and I've been having so much fun with all the planning, but I never want that to overshadow how EXCITED I am to get married... to my best friend. I stumbled across this quote the other day and thought it was good advice... .
Marriage is not a noun; it's a verb. It isn't something you get. It's something you do. It's the way you love your partner every day." Barbara De Angelis
P.S. I would love to hear any words of wisdom you might have!
How sweet is this pancake breakfast? This would be such a fun party idea for a baby shower...a little twist on the traditional brunch showers we are so used to, and perfect for a small intimate group of friends.
I'm so excited its spring because that means peonies are in bloom! If you read my post yesterday, then you know how crazy I am about peonies. I love that they look fabulous in full bloom or even when they are fully closed. You can't go wrong pairing them with other flowers or keeping them in a bunch all their own. Throwing a dinner party this spring? Pick up a few peonies, slip them into a simple vase and you will have yourself the perfect arrangement!
