House Project #1

Ok, so I know I said that I was going to post photos today from the first birthday party my best friend put together for her little girl. But, my post isn't quite ready yet, so instead you will have to bear with me as I talk about a house project I am currently working on. For some reason I think its a good idea to try to redecorate my fiance's house at the same time as planning a wedding. Hmm, probably not the smartest way to keep my life stress free? I've been wanting to give a new look to my dining room chairs and finally decided to take the plunge on this project.
.
.
Here is a before picture of one of my chairs. I know, the fabric is not bad...but, of course I think they need a change (my fiance doesn't get it...typical male right?). So, I went to a local fabric store and picked out this fun geometric pattern...in one of my favorite color combos: chocolate brown and cream.
.

.
Next comes the fun part....taking the old fabric off the chairs. Thankfully my sweet fiance used his muscles, a screwdriver and needlenose pliers to help me remove the fabric.
.

..
Due to a lack of tools(and poor planning on my part), the project had to end here last night. I'm hoping to finish it tonight! Don't worry...you will definitely see the finished product :)

  1. Jenny and I were not brave to do all the chairs at one time so we did one and unfortunately have not finished the others.

It was much easier then we thought it would be as well.

Did you replace the pad or just the fabric?

  2. I just replaced the fabric. Its definitely not a fun job but its a quick way to make an inexpensive update!

  3. Sidney,
First of all, I love the fabric that you picked out. Tell your sweet fiance that his dad had to the very same project a few months ago.
It is a fast, easy update.
