Lent

I LOVE diet coke...its my staple...and, I've decided to give it up for 40 days. I've lasted 8 days so far, and I haven't caved to my addiction. And, if I do say so, I'm pretty darn proud of myself. I've noticed though that about 3pm, I get a wave of tiredness. What am I to do? Start drinking coffee in the afternoon? I'm hoping that in a few days my body will adjust and I won't be so tired anymore. I wonder if after 40 days I will fall back into the trap of drinking coke? Has anyone else tried to give it up...and had success??

  1. I give up soda (specifically diet coke, as well) every year for Lent and I have found that each year it takes me longer and longer to pick up the habit again once the Lenten season has passed. And, this year, I haven't even had cravings for a diet coke yet, so it is certainly possible. Best of luck!

  2. My dad gave up soft drinks for Lent 11 years ago- and hasn't had one since!

  3. I gave up diet coke for three weeks once. I was drinking like four a day and knew it was very unhealthy for me. Don't get me wrong, I still love diet coke, but I never drink more than one a day and many days I don't even do that. My tip for you is to drink more green tea! Good luck!!
