Too Cute!
Are you ever a guest at a wedding and have no clue which bridesmaid or groomsmen is which? I love how this fan cleverly takes care of that problem! It lists the names of the wedding party from left to right so that guests have a face with a name. How perfect! This is just another great way to personalize your special day...

My new BFF
If you have a pet and have not discovered the dyson animal vacuum, you are seriously missing out. This thing is fabulous(I can't believe I have used the word fabulous in the same sentence as vacuum). My sweet mom gave it to me this weekend and I couldn't be more grateful!! After about two minutes over at my fiance's house, the cannister was FULL. And, I had just vacuumed his house the night before. Either his vacuum was really terrible or this one is just that awesome. So all you pet owners out there, get in your car, drive to Macy's, bite the bullet and purchase this amazing vacuum. Do it!

Our Fiesta!
I can't believe it has taken me two weeks now to finally get this post up! Our sweet friends threw my fiance and me a couples' shower on August 14th and we had a blast! Since my fiance is from Texas (and since Tex-Mex is one of my favorite foods), the hosts thought it would be fun to have a southwest theme that night with a delicious taco bar, chips, salsa and of course cheese dip. The invitation, flowers (and even plates and napkins) were bright festive colors that were just perfect for the fiesta! Here are a few snapshots from the party...

Southern Elegance
I am (of course) loving this gorgeous table with southern charm. The antique handkerchief, julep cups, mercury glass, ahhh I'm in heaven! I'm also crazy about the little flower arrangements hanging from the backs of the chairs. Can this table get any better??

Pottery Love
I was home in Mobile over the weekend and popped in to one of my favorite local gift shops, The Ivy Cottage, and stumbled upon the most gorgeous pottery by artist Caroline Reehl. Every piece of her collection is simply breathtaking to me...I just can't get enough of it!! A southerner herself, Caroline's pottery is inspired by the southern woman who epitomizes hospitality, cultivation of splendor, and rich traditions.

Dessert Bliss
I am crazy about this rustic fall dessert table!! My sweet tooth loves it when there are more options than just cake or cupcakes. So the addition of cookies, brownies and lemon squares has my mouth watering! I would take this dessert table one step further and add shooters of milk. The perfect ending to a delicious dessert bite!

Rustic Ring Pillow
These days I've got weddings more and more on my mind, as the clock ticks down to mine this Fall! So, you will have to bear with me as my blog will probably be more wedding focused than usual the next couple of months. When I think of Fall, I immediately think of rustic elements...which you know I absolutely LOVE. The other day I came across this fabulous idea for a rustic version of a ring pillow. If only I were getting married outside on a farm or ranch...that would be the ideal setting for this creative idea!!

Mercury Glass Love...
It took awhile to grow on me, but now I am totally in LOVE with mercury glass...especially mercury glass votive/candle holders. It may be the romantic in me, but there is something about the soft glow and the vintage looking votives that has my heart pitter patting. What I love most about mercury glass is that it can be dressed down or dressed up and looks equally fabulous!! I've been working with my florist on the decor for my wedding and mercury glass will definitely be making an appearance. I can't wait to see it all come together!!

They're In!!
My bridesmaids' dresses came in the mail yesterday and I couldn't have been more excited to see them!! Of course I immediately ran over to my sister's house to make her try on her dress (and pose for my camera). Doesn't she look fabulous!!
I think my favorite part of the dress is the dramatic collar, although she might say the pockets...
Unfortunately, I had to cut her feet off in the picture because she is wearing flip flops. She assured me that won't happen at the wedding...maybe just the reception :). I'm thinking a nice pair of strappy gold shoes would be perfect. Well, I couldn't end this post without throwing in a photo of my precious nephew Bennett. He just turned one and has gotten his first pair of "walking" shoes as my sister calls them. We are waiting to see if he will be able to make it down the aisle as a ring bearer. He's pretty cute, isn't he?

Swooning...again
It never fails...every time I see a ghost chair I swoon! You may remember my post awhile ago featuring a fabulous monogrammed ghost chair at a wedding reception. Or my post on a navy and pink color scheme, that just so happened to feature the ghost chair. Well, my obsession still continues since I came across the images above on Style Me Pretty yesterday! Not only would I love to style a party with the ghost chair, but I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to have a ghost chair in my house. Ahhh...a girl can dream, right?!

Blue and Yellow
I'm not usually drawn to a blue and yellow color palette, but I am loving this subtle combination of those two colors. You know my obsession for mason jars, so this table setting has lured me in! I love that the blue and yellow are combined through the use of vintage glassware, whether its a wine glass, vase or mason jar. I'm also crazy about the juxtaposition of the delicate glass and the rustic wood table. The gorgeous flowers are simple and romantic and make the perfect centerpiece for this fabulous table.
Now not only do I need to keep up my collection of mason jars, I need to add colored glass to the list too!

Pinwheels!
I feel like everywhere I turn these days pinwheels are popping up...especially in event decor. And don't just think pinwheels should be limited to a child's birthday party, they are making appearances at wedding receptions too! I love how they add a youthful fun loving punch to any type of party. If you are on a tight budget, they can be certainly be a creative substitute for flowers. Would you incorporate pinwheels into your next party??
